1. 개요 [편집]

1979년 결성된 영국의 스피드 메탈/스래쉬 메탈/블랙 메탈 밴드.

메탈의 원초적인 힘으로 돌아가자는 이념에 충실했던 밴드로서, 녹음조차도 무대에서 한번에 진행하는 경우가 많아 특유의 지글지글거리는 로우파이한 사운드가 특징이다.

[1] 앨범은 특유의 직선적인 구조로 스래쉬 메탈이라는 장르 형성에 큰 영향을 주었으며, 2집 블랙 메탈를 내면서 블랙 메탈이라는 장르의 생성에 큰 영향을 주었다. 다만, 이름만 제시했고 사운드적인 요소는 아직 부족하다. 즉, First Wave인거까지는 사실이지만, 그렇다고 해서 완전히 블랙 메탈은 아니다.[2] Venom은 동명의 타이틀 곡으로 더 잘 알려져있다.[3] 사실 3집이후로 거의 B~C급 취급받는 앨범들인데 본작은 2집을 앞뒤만 바꿔 낸 앨범이라고 대차게 까인다(...)
