261989년 발매된 [[큐어]]의 8집 앨범. 자기 성찰적이고 음울한 고딕 락으로의 회귀를 보여주는 앨범이다. 시기가 딱 1990년대 [[얼터너티브 록]] 붐이 서서히 불때였던지라 이들 앨범 중에서는 꽤 호응을 얻고 성공한 편이다. [* 다만 로버트 스미스는 [[그런지]] 붐을 좋아하지 않는다고 밝힌 바 있다.] [[롤링 스톤 선정 500대 명반]]에서 116위에 랭크되었다.

("I'm gonna DISINTEGRATE YOU!") 를 듣고 --쿨시크하게-- "큐어의 '산산조각'을 재생합니다." ("Playing 'Disintegration', by The Cure.")라고 대꾸한다. 근데 이때 재생되는것은 Plain song이다. 여기서 시리가 Disintegration을 재생한다는 것은 앨범을 말하는것.]에 삽입되었다. 제목은 단성 성가, 정선율을 의미한다.
